Description

A standalone Jupiter Point novella...

Comic book artist Mia Grant is fleeing from her ex-boyfriend when she stumbles across a cabin in the woods, where she finds the last thing she expected--a kidnapping victim. Extra bonus that he's the exceptionally attractive Aiden Knight.

Aiden has no idea why he was snatched off his college campus and brought to this wilderness cabin, but he suspects it has to do with the hunt for his father's killer. For now, he has a bigger worry--helping his gorgeous rescuer escape her nasty ex, who's still hot on her trail.

Add in a thunderstorm and a white-knuckle wildlife encounter, and Aiden and Mia can hardly be blamed when the simmering attraction between them explodes into fiery passion.

Years later, back in Jupiter Point ... was their raw hunger the real deal? Or will the slightly older and wiser couple chalk up the adrenaline-filled bliss to just one hot night?

On vacation with her boyfriend Darren, Mia Grant finds out what he is really like. While fleeing Darren, Mia stumbles across an abandoned cabin and kidnapping victim Aiden Knight. Mia reluctantly agrees to release "the stranger", but isn't sure she can trust him. Fearful of bears and Darren's return, she decides to use Aiden's map reading skills to help them find a way out of the forest. They endure Darren's return, a bear searching through their items, and a rainstorm before being rescued by Aiden's brothers. Before they part ways, they agree to meet up again in five years, if they are still unattached. Fast forward five years....Mia arrives in Jupiter Point to see if the connection she felt with Aiden is still there. What she finds is Daisy, Aiden's ex, with a new baby. Jumping to conclusions, Mia decides to leave town but not before she stops by the cabin where it all started. Daisy informs Aiden that she's just met Mia, but she was chatting with a handsome man. Aiden has never forgotten Mia, although he's tried! He assumes she's married and in Jupiter Point on her honeymoon. Hurt, he heads to the cabin. Where he finds Mia.... If you're looking for a quick, fun, romantic novella this is a great choice! Even though it can be read as a stand alone, there are spoilers for every novel in this series. I loved the series and Jennifer Bernard did a wonderful job tying up all the loose ends. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
  • Great chemistry!

The Jupiter Point series has been one of my favorites because I’m married to a firefighter/EMT, so reading about Hot Shot Firefighters is right up my alley, so to speak. Exciting storytelling with well developed characters and some oh-so satisfying sex; what more could a romance reader want? This is Aiden and Mia’s book and I enjoyed them as a couple because they had great chemistry together and the ending of the book really touched my heart. Having said that, these two characters were way too calm about running from the danger they faced and the storyline should have reflected the seriousness of the subject matter. White it was a good, this book failed to live up to the 5-star adventures I’ve come to expect from Jennifer Bernard. I read an early copy of this book and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.
