Description

The world has fallen in love with Nick Gautier and the Dark-Hunters.

Now Nick's saga continues in the next eagerly anticipated volume...

Go to school. Get good grades. Stay out of trouble. That's the mandate for most kids. But Nick Gautier isn't the average teenager. He's a boy with a destiny not even he fully understands. And his first mandate is to stay alive while everyone, even his own father, tries to kill him.

He's learned to annihilate zombies and raise the dead, divination and clairvoyance, so why is learning to drive and keep a girlfriend so dang hard? But that isn't the primary skill he has to master. Survival is.

And in order to survive, his next lesson makes all the others pale in comparison. He is on the brink of becoming either the greatest hero mankind has ever known.

Or he'll be the one who ends the world. With enemies new and old gathering forces, he will have to call on every part of himself to fight or he'll lose everyone he cares about.

Even himself.

I tried to hate this book...I really did, but I couldn't. It just wouldn't allow it. It might be Nick forcing me to write this under his spell. Lol! But seriously I love the way the book flows, you don't get thrown into anything without seeing it coming which is good in a way since the author travels back and forth throughout time but she does it in a way that leads you up to it. The characters are great and you end up really fighting for Nick! I love this Author!

Personally, I was really confused by the storyline. Maybe it was because this was the first book I read that included Nick. He's a good, funny, and well developed character, but when I picked up the book I didn't realize there was more to his story in a more adult collection. I continued to read, in hopes that it would explain further into it, but it didn't. :( I think I would have enjoyed it more if I read the other books first and knew they existed.

Great book! All of the characters seem to have so much depth and the entire novel is extremely inspirational, not that that means I'm going to start looking for zombies or gods or anything. The characters really seem to come to life and Nick's sarcasm and quick wit make the book worth reading all on its alone. Some of the plot twists and issues nick deals with may seem a little overexaggerated but it definately keeps readers hooked to the end of the novel. I really enjoy The Chronicles of Nick and hope to read more of Kenyon's works in the future!

I think the entire series is just getting so Sue'ish in how everyone seems to have a tragic backstory, and almost no one looks over the age of thirty. I would also enjoy it more if they didn't go into an after school special monologue every chapter or so. The first two books are great, but I think this one is starting to turn stale.

Great Nick style book, you get some history in this book and a few deep life lessons- however be prepared to read the background story several times. Also be prepared for the storyline to be repeated, same thing happens to poor Nick over and over. I must have been in the mood for something fresh because even the new ADD cat joke didn't crack me up. However I could not stop reading and am looking forward to the next in series!
