Lili Valente has outdone herself! Magnificent Bastard is such a great book that I went into Spectacular Rascal thinking it would pale in comparison. I was so wrong! Spectacular Rascal is Aidan’s story. It starts off with him streaking in the park so I knew immediately I was going to like him. He gets a big surprise when he walks in to meet his new client and discovers she is the girl he knows as ‘polka dot panties’. I loved the wit and humor in this book. I always enjoy a good second-chance romance and one that includes a tattooed hero who is standing up to the girl’s psycho ex makes it even better. If you’re into tattoos and dirty talk, you should definitely give this book a try.

My introduction to Lili Valente was "Magnificent Bastard," the first book in this series. And what an introduction it was! The premise of the series is clever, and the dynamic and dialogue between the characters was witty and original, so I couldn’t wait to see what was in store with book two: "Spectacular Rascal." Aiden Knight is best friend to Sebastian (Bash) Prince, aka Magnificent Bastard. MB Consulting is dedicated to axiom “don’t get mad, get even.” Bash convinces his tattoo artist friend Aiden that joining MBC is not only a great way to help him raise the funds to open his second studio, but it’s also good for the soul. Armed with the moniker Spectacular Rascal, Aiden accepts the latest MBC client, Beth Jones, a woman whose “ex” doesn’t seem to understand that no means no. It seems like it’s going to require not only Aiden’s brains and good looks, but his tatted-up bad boy brawn as well to convince her mobster get-a-clue-ex that it’s time to move along. The plan is in place, but the stakes ramp up when Aiden realizes that Beth Jones is really Catherine (Cat) Jones, the woman he walked away from after college eleven years ago. Gone, but never forgotten. I’m giving nothing away here. You HAVE to experience Curved and Panties (Aiden and Cat) for yourself. Their banter is facetious and witty, clever and sharp. I loved every sarcastic, sensitive, sexy minute of it. But "Spectacular Rascal" goes beyond just a romantic comedy. The characters have depth. There’s something touching and compelling about their connection, and I found my chuckles accompanied by a sniffle or two more than once. A spectacular summer escape. Grab your e-reader and head to the pool, but don’t forget the lemonade. You’re gonna need something to cool you off from all the dirty talk. Aiden really is a rascal. Honesly, I'm going to miss these guys. Maybe the author can be convinced to give us a follow-up story just for fun...

Spectacular Rascal Lili's newest book is going to be a hit! It continues on after Magnificent Bastard. Aiden aka Curve and Kat aka Polka Dot Panties met while in college and part of a running club called the Dashers. They cared about each other but didn't realize how much. Fast forward 11 years and Kat hires Magnifice nt Bastard to get rid of her terrible fiancé that is a mobster. Unknowing Aiden is the one chosen to help her. Feelings begin to erupt again that are getting in the way of Cat's protection. Lots of background info that eventually comes into play. It's a great book you will enjoy!

Aiden and Cat continue on this series in the same fun manner as Bash and Penny. This is a pretty light-hearted funny read with a little drama/violence and mild sex scenes thrown in. Aiden is a lumberjack sized man with a teddy bear gentle heart. He plays the role of the spectacular rascal, but is portrayed much weaker. I'd love to see im live up to the name and have a bit more manly man behind the muscle. Overall the book is a fun read with some entertaining letters/tet back and forth to keep the pace pretty fast. The text are fun enough i'd love to see an entire book of them. ;) Some of the things Panties and Curve do make me wanna bang my head and scream "Anyone who has ever seen a crime show knows you can't do that". these Duh moments are my main reasoning behind 4 stars instead of 5. I reccomend this fun read to anyone who loves a good romantic comedy

The opening scene in this one with Aidan sets the tone for the crazy wild ride to come. The humor was by far my favorite aspect of the book. The banter and interaction especially the flashbacks sucked me in. Aidan is one yummy guy and he now has the second chance with the one that got away. The attraction between them is hot as ever. They have a ton of chemistry. He has his work cut out for him when he's hired to get her ex off her back. One problem the threat is really life or death. Can Aidan keep her safe?
  • Lili Valente has done it again!

Once again, Lili Valente has written a magnificently entertaining story filled with humor, passion and a bit of suspense proving her grand ability to draw me into the lives of her characters and becoming one with their universe. Spectacular Rascal returns us to world created in Ms. Valente’s novel, Magnificent Bastard, but this time reintroducing us to Aiden whom we met before. Though Aiden’s passion it running his tattoo business, his best friend and owner of Magnificent Bastard Consulting, has convinced him to work for him as well. But unlike Bash’s smooth, gorgeous businessman persona, Aiden is the complete opposite. His “bad boy” look comes complete with a beard and tattoo sleeves covering each arm. This façade is perfect for the hard-to-get-rid of ex’s, you know the ones that just don’t seem to get the hint that it’s over. But despite his gruff and tough-guy exterior, Aiden has the heart of a giant teddy bear. When he meets his new client, Cat, the memories of 11 years ago come flooding back. Aiden is determined to turn her away because of the potential conflict of interest; that is until he meets her ex who just happens to be in the mob and is about as scary and creepy as they come and clearly is not going to take Cat’s no for an answer. In spite of his hesitation, Aiden begins to feel a protectiveness for Cat and recognizes how much she needs his help. As they begin to spend more time together, their relationship moves beyond and simple business arrangement. When the connection from the past again resurfaces, it makes it nearly impossible for him to walk away. And as Cat remembers their past as well, she also wants more from Aiden. Will Aiden be able to keep Cat safe from her ex, and will they find comfort and love in each other’s arms, the kind of love which is meant to last a lifetime? Aiden is such a sweetheart making me absolutely swoon over and over again, and his “dirty talk” with Cat is oh-so-sexy. Cat is a bit on the crazy side which I must admit makes me love her as well and believe me when I say she can deliver the “dirty talk” as well as she can take it. The banter between these characters is hysterical making me chuckle and laugh out loud. Lili Valente at one point even breaks the fourth wall talking directly to the reader which is absolutely fantastic (not to mention the creatively amusing epilogue). I just couldn’t stop giggling it was so much fun. Spectacular Rascal is definitely a must, must read. If you haven’t given Lili Valente a chance in the past, this is certainly a great place to start. She has an absolutely undeniable knack for combining comedy with hot, sexy passion with elements of suspense and danger that will keep you coming back for more, more, more!

A Review of Spectacular Rascal by Lili Valente Be still my heart - 5+++++ stars I knew from the previous book in this series that I was going to like Aidan's story. I really appreciated that his story picked up where we last saw him — doing the streak through Prospect Park to get the cops off of Bash and Penny, so they could get away. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know more about the friendship that Bash and Aidan have, going back to elementary school. I also got a huge kick out of the nicknames Aidan and Cat had when they were part of the Dashers club in college. I do find it kinda funny that they never knew each others real names for over two years, but it's not completely unbelievable. There were lots of twists and turns in the story, enough to keep me on the edge of my seat at times and a few times that brought me to tears, but this is one of those stories that you will want to read over and over again, just for the feelings it invokes. I certainly hope this is not the last we hear from The Magnificent Bastard Consulting crew. I absolutely love the style of these books and how the author is telling these stories. **Complimentary Copy provided by Author for an honest review.**
