Description

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The much-anticipated conclusion to Debbie Macomber’s beloved Rose Harbor series, set in the picturesque town of Cedar Cove, Sweet Tomorrows is a vibrant and poignant novel of letting go of fear, following your heart, and embracing the future—come what may.

Nine months ago, Mark Taylor abruptly left Cedar Cove on a perilous mission to right a wrong from his past. Though Mark finally confessed his love for her, innkeeper Jo Marie Rose is unsure if he’s ever coming back. The Rose Harbor Inn barely seems the same without Mark, but Jo Marie can’t bear to lose herself in grief once more. Determined to move forward, she begins dating again, and finds companionship when she takes on a boarder who is starting a new chapter herself.

Recovering from a twice-broken heart, Emily Gaffney, a young teacher, is staying at the inn while she looks for a home of her own. Having given up on marriage, Emily dreams of adopting children someday. She has her eye on one house in particular—with room for kids. Although Emily’s inquiries about the house are rudely rebuffed, her rocky start with the owner eventually blossoms into a friendship. But when the relationship verges on something more, Emily will have to rethink what she truly wants and the chances she’s willing to take.

The inn seems to be working its magic again—Emily opening herself up to love, Jo Marie moving on—until Jo Marie receives shocking news.

With Debbie Macomber’s trademark charm and wisdom, Sweet Tomorrows brings to a close the journeys of cherished characters who feel like old friends. Macomber has created an enchanting place in the Rose Harbor Inn that readers will never forget.

Great ending. I felt everyone needs to know, since the mid-book is extremely stressful, bouncing between 4 characters all is horrible, extended, situations. Began to doubt Debbie M and her key character Jo Marie for a number of pages, but, the ending made up for it.

Still reading it. So far it’s good but a lot of real life sadness so far but the Author will probably pull off some good thing at the end!

I’m an avid reader and thoroughly enjoyed all the books of this series. My only complaint is that there aren’t any more. I want more of Jo Marie and Mark and where life takes them.

Sweet Tomorrows by Debbie Macomber is the final book in the Rose Harbor series. Jo Marie Rose owns the Rose Harbor Inn in Cedar Cove, Washington. She really misses Mark Taylor. Mark and Jo Marie are in love, but Mark does not feel he can commit to Jo Marie just yet. He needs to go back to Iraq and get his informant, Ibrahim and family out of the country. Mark’s unit had to leave so suddenly they were not able to help the local people (informants) who worked with the soldiers. Jo Marie told Mark that she would not stop her life while he was gone. It takes many months but eventually Jo Marie meets someone she is interested in dating. Just as their relationship is starting to progress, Mark comes home. What will Jo Marie do? Emily Gaffney has obtained a teaching position in Cedar Cove. Until she finds a place to live, she is staying at Rose Harbor Inn. Emily is getting over a break-up and feels that it is time to give up on love. But it looks like love is not ready to give up on her. Enter Nick Schwartz into Emily’s life. Nick has the one house in Cedar Cover that Emily wishes to purchase. Nick, though, is not willing to sell. Nick is having troubles of his own. Can these two help each other? Sweet Tomorrows is the final book in the series, but you can read it alone. What happened in the previous books is brought up and gone over in detail. This book (unlike the previous) is told in the first person from the main character’s point-of-views (Mark, Jo Marie, Emily, and Nick). There is a lot of information repeated in this book (because of the different pov's). I was a little disappointed in Sweet Tomorrows. I have read the majority of Debbie Macomber's books, and this is not up to her usual standard. I found the book lacking and thought it was very predictable. I give Sweet Tomorrows 3.5 out of 5 stars (it was okay). I did like the sweet ending and the updates on past guests. I received a complimentary copy of Sweet Tomorrows in exchange for an honest evaluation. The comments and opinions expressed are my own.

I love Debbie Macomber's books each one brings me into the story as if I were there. Getting to know Jo Marie and Mark through the other Rose Harbor books has been a treat it's sad to see the end . I cried with different parts of this book and laughed as a Navy spouse thankfully he is retired I can relate to Jo Marie's feelings on Mark leaving for Iraq . It's wonderful to see the miracle's in each guest life after staying at the inn. I can't wait to see what Debbie has in store for us with her next book and hope to once in a while return to Cedar Cove and catch up on things there

I haven't read A book of Debbie's. I have most of them. I'm sad that this is the last book in this series. She has given us Dee characters in a Special story line. Jo Marie owns a B&B and is a widow. Mark works to help her and they fall for each other. Spoiler. Emily can't have children . Major Spoiler. She has stopped her marriages. Spoiler. Now she meets Nick, with his PTSD from a car crash and his brother is gone and he isn't! Major Spoiler. They are both unsure of themselves. Mark tells Jo Marie he is going back to help a friend in Iraq. Spoiler. This book will make you keep tissues at hand for the whole read. It will make you not want to put the story down. Then you will have to walk away. That is what this story is all about. I hope you choose to read this book. I enjoyed this story and it will go on my reread pile. Please don't let this one get away! Enjoy reading this book! I have this book for an honest review for NetGalley.

This book is about a woman who has purchased a b&b in Cedar Cove and the special healing that happens to guests who stay there. It tells the story of several couples who have had difficult times and of how the peace of the inn helps them to recover. A very heartwarming book and one of Debbie Macombers best. She has been getting better and better.
