Description

Only his memories can save her…
A great primal power has risen. The Queen of Flesh and Fire has become the Primal of Blood and Bone—the true Primal of Life and Death. And the battle Casteel, Poppy, and their allies have been fighting has only just begun. Gods are awakening across Iliseeum and the mortal realm, readying for the war to come.

But when Poppy falls into stasis, Cas faces the very real possibility that the dire, unexpected consequences of what she is becoming could take her away from him. Cas is given some advice, though—something he plans to cling to as he waits to see her beautiful eyes open once more: Talk to her.

And so, he does. He reminds Poppy how their journey began, revealing things about himself that only Kieran knows in the process. But it’s anybody’s guess what she’ll wake to or exactly how much of the realm and Cas will have changed when she does.

#1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout revisits Poppy and Casteel’s epic love story in the next installment of the Blood and Ash series. But this time, Hawke gets to tell the tale.

Love the Blood and Ash series. Couldn’t wait to see what happens next but find I’m still waiting. Totally dismayed after skipping over redundant chapters. If you have read all in the series I suggest skipping this one and save yourself the aggravation.

Honestly I understand how annoyed everyone is that they paid the same price for a book we basically already read, but it doesn’t change the fact that it was an amazing read. It answered so many unknowns that we wish we know in the beginning of this series. Should it have been a lower cost? Probably. But it still deserves a 5 star rating

I liked having casteels retelling in his POV personally doesn’t continue the story a lot but what it did was well worth the read to me

Wanted to see what happened next. Did not need or want a recap or in-depth information on the characters. Waste of time and money!
  • For true fans.. Absolutely worth it! 💜

I typically do not leave reviews, but there are so many one stared reviews I felt the need to do so. At more than half way done with AWo2Q, I wanted to read FBaA and AKoFaF again. The love story is just that good. I went to see the 5th book to decide if I could wait while I reread the first two. 😂 When I saw it was a retelling of the first from his perspective, my jaw hit the floor. Do not let anyone turn you from this book. Not only is it necessary for the storyline, true diehard fans of the characters will absolutely love and adore it. She wrote it that well. 🙌🏽💜

I love this series and have enjoyed each book that's come out. However I was tempted to not read this based off a lot of different reviews because "it was the same story as the first book." Yes it is a recounting of the first book, but it's from Cas's perspective. It's character developing. You'll get to know Cas and other characters so much deeper. You are seeing situations develop behind the story Poppy tells and shows us how Cas felt and thought, not just how Poppy assumed he thought and felt. Read it for what it is because you love these charqcters! On top of that the story does get moved a long. Do you want some answers about her dad? Things are set up here. Questions about Malik (sp?) Get to understand him more here. Gosh darn it just read it for yourself! The last 100 pages will have you salivating for the next book to be here, that I can promise.

Easily the worst of her books. I’ve read most and loved them, but this was horrible. Absolutely tedious. I couldn’t get through it. Nothing more than a summery is Casteels point of view. Nothing new. Absolutely not worth $9. Wish Apple Books gave refunds.
  • Didn’t I already read this?

Come on. I’m reading pages and pages of dialogue that I read in book 1. What a lazy money grab.
  • Wasn’t great

It was cool seeing things from Casteel’s POV but having to re-read basically the entire first book? It was boring and came off as lazy. Didn’t seem like they knew where they wanted the story to go so they took a cop-out and just re-told the first book instead of taking more time and coming out with a great 5th book that told something we haven’t already heard.
