Description

If Lord Donovan Trent had his way, he would spend his days carelessly wooing the women of London society. Instead, he found himself banished to the English countryside of Cornwall, forced by the decrees of his father's will to run his family's tin mines and find a country bride. The last thing the handsome lord needed was a local lass sticking her nose into his affairs, but that seemed to be exactly what the parson's daughter Corisande Easton had in mind.

Reviews

  • Frustration

    By Lsnup
It was a good story but somewhat frustrating at a time, and the ending was so abrupt. I wished she would have stretched it out a little bit longer.
  • Great Book

    By QueenTammy1969
Enthralling from start to finish !!!
  • Very frustrating female “protagonist”

    By KeetaB
Corie was a psychopath. She was rude, nasty, WRONG about the majority of her assumptions and just straight up insufferable. Ugh! Such a frustrating read.

  • Good read….

    By Chanchan15
Cute read…main character was a little annoying at times but cute read.
  • Decent

    By Chi Chi O!
The book was decent but the main character had to make several poor, unrealistic decisions in order to drive the narrative. I didn’t like that.

  • Anger

This had too much anger. I had to literally skip chapters because of all the anger issues.🤦‍♀️
  • Anger issues

    By Cranberry Marmalade
Good grief! Whatever happened in Corisande’s life to make her so angry, hateful, mistrusting, and belligerent? Her constant anger and willful belief in the worst in others grows tiresome. She becomes as annoying, self-pitying, and unlikable as her husband’s sister-in-law, Charlotte.
  • Secrets at Midnight

    By stresstomax
It’s not clear where the title came from but I liked the story. It had mysteries, twists and turns, villains and action. The only thing that kept getting in the way of the romance that should have been going on was the lead female’s out of control temper. It abruptly came to an end when she finally realized she loved the male character.
