Description

He was the most powerful Sith lord who ever lived.
But could he be the only one who never died?

“Did you ever hear the Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise? It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise that he could use the Force to influence the midi-chlorians to create life. He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying.”
—Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith

Darth Plagueis: one of the most brilliant Sith Lords who ever lived. Possessing power is all he desires. Losing it is the only thing he fears. As an apprentice, he embraces the ruthless ways of the Sith. And when the time is right, he destroys his Master—but vows never to suffer the same fate. For like no other disciple of the dark side, Darth Plagueis learns to command the ultimate power . . . over life and death.

Darth Sidious: Plagueis’s chosen apprentice. Under the guidance of his Master, he secretly studies the ways of the Sith, while publicly rising to power in the galactic government, first as Senator, then as Chancellor, and eventually as Emperor.

Darth Plagueis and Darth Sidious, Master and acolyte, target the galaxy for domination—and the Jedi Order for annihilation. But can they defy the merciless Sith tradition? Or will the desire of one to rule supreme, and the dream of the other to live forever, sow the seeds of their destruction?

Features a bonus section following the novel that includes a primer on the Star Wars expanded universe, and over half a dozen excerpts from some of the most popular Star Wars books of the last thirty years!

If it was not for the movies , we would of never got this Supreme novel of the Emperor’s background , machinations and betrayal while upholding the rule of two all along . This story can easily be seen throughout the prequel trilogy . James Luceno must be a Sith . I will say no more , Munns the word .

This book is absolutely amazing. The pacing is perfect and the author gives the perfect amount of detail regarding the characters’ thoughts. 10/10

It has a very strong beginning with lots of details about plagueis, towards the middle of the story it became much about Darth Sidious which I didn’t like. Plagueis became a second character.

An impressive story. It exceeded my expectations.
  • The Force is not strong with this one

This books reads more like a lesson with a sprinkle of story here and there. The characters have no emotional depth and no interesting connections. Friendships are as deep as a couple of phrases. Adversities are a bit more but often fall to be explained by conveniences of the dark force. Only interesting character dives are the ones regarding Dooku and Maul.

An excellent read that truly developes Palpatine’s character. To be provided with the visual of the young senator and his growth over the years, is very entertaining. If you’re a sith fan, this is a MUST. Read.

It started a little slow, but once it picked up it was hard to put down. Definitely worth a read for fun, just know it might get rewritten later.

Read this book. A friend of mine asked if I had ever heard the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise — and I hadn’t. He recommended me this book after five minutes of him summarizing his back story. Good read.
