Description

MUST HATE DOGS
Do you hate dogs? Only want to talk about yourself? Is having a sense of humor something you’ve never been accused of? Think eating for pleasure is a complete waste of time? Agree that tipping is for suckers? Then you’re the date for me.

Dixon Beckett is the kind of guy who loves his mama, treats women right, and never ever wants to fall in love again. That’s why he’ll do anything to win a bet to be the last single man standing by Christmas.

He’s got a plan, too. Create the most no-good, horrible, very bad dating profile in existence. Only someone actually responds to his ad...

The rules say he has to go on six dates with the first (or in his case, only) person who answers—even if that person is Fiona Hartigan: Hater of dogs, non-lover of any delicious food, and zero sense of humor.

But something feels off about this pariah. In fact, Dixon is almost positive Fiona is just pretending to be awful. Pretending to be the most horrible date in existence. And she’s most definitely pretending to not be as interested in him as he is in her.

The more Dixon Beckett starts to unravel the mystery of why Fiona answered his ad in the first place, the more he starts considering the most vile, awful, terrible idea ever…falling in love.

Each book in the Last Man Standing series is STANDALONE:
* Mama's Boy
* Neanderthal
* Mansplainer

    Such fun!! You are going to instantly fall in love with Dixon! Not to mention his two cousins, Nash & Griff, who come up with a crazy idea on how to win a bet, in order to get the prize. Which is quite interesting actually. And intriguing. And involves a dating app. And funny when Dixon thinks he’s fooled them. Until Fiona responds. Then it gets even better. I just loved everything about this!! I’m not going to give you a long detailed description about it, because I went in blind and completely enjoyed it, laughing quite a bit. That’s how you should experience it, having a little knowledge, knowing your giggle stick will get tickled and you’re going to love it. I now know 3 things: I cannot wait for the next book in the series, I need to go back and read the series about The Hartigans, and if I ever need a book to make me laugh & fall in love, Avery Flynn is my new go to.

    Dixon and Fiona are a lot of fun. I could not put this book down and avery Flynn has out did herself. This is another series inside a series and I love getting to see old friends. The Hartigans are great and I am loving the cousins . Dixon and Fiona have made me want more in the harbor city world. I can’t wait for Griff and Nash’s book.

    New series that centers around three cousins, Dixon, Griff and Nash Beckett. The cousin’s beloved grandmother recently died leaving one unopened gift with no tag. The cousins devise a bet to see who will get to claim the gift. All of them will join Bramble, a dating website where you commit to six dates, and the last single man standing wins the gift. Of course, the other cousins get to plan the dates, so all’s fair in love and war. Dixon is the first cousin to throw his hat into the Bramble ring and puts in qualities in a woman he knows he will hate. Fiona Hartigan (one of the many siblings in the previous Hartigan series), has been duped by a cheating jerk and has decided to change her nice ways. She see’s Dixon’s profile on Bramble and recognizes the CEO jerk that blew her off three times for a pitch of her Grandmother’s beauty products. Of course, they agree to go through all of the dates to get what they want. Fiona and Dixon are wary of relationships, and falling for someone is the last thing they want. I loved seeing the Hartigan family again, and getting to know the Beckett cousins. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author for my honest review.

    I’m not generally a big fan of characters who describe themselves as “gullible”, so I was a bit leery of a romance where BOTH the hero AND the heroine view themselves that way. However, by about half way through the book, I really started to root for these two. There is a great fight, and an even better grovel at the end. Will definitely read the upcoming books on the other two cousins and how they fare in trying to avoid love to gain their grandma’s last gift. I was given an advance copy and this is my honest review.
