Description

Shane Marvell's career as a rodeo rider is ending far too soon. He doesn’t have a plan B, so during his last season, he’s all in, determined to win as much prize money as possible--even if it means riding injured and taking more risks than he should.

Ella Etxeberri has always played it safe, so when her life still takes a bad turn despite her caution, she wonders if it isn’t time to see what she’s been missing. While researching risk behaviors in rodeo riders, she meets Shane Marvell, a cowboy who merits additional study of the personal variety.

Just as Ella is hitting the point to embrace risk, Shane is pulling back. He knows Ella’s all-in approach is born of curiosity and whim. He’s not what she wants forever, and perhaps Ella is one risk he can't allow himself to take.

Loved the love story of Ella and Shane! Even though they had lots of ups and downs, the story of their romance was so very sweet!

A sweet read with a satisfactory ending. The coverage of all a rodeo rider has to contend with was eye opening.

I loved this story about a cowboy’s journey to his last rodeo. What he has to go through to reach that rodeo is brutal at times in more ways than one. His love life has seen better days until he meets a woman doing research on why people risk their lives on a rodeo tour.

Fun look at ranching and rodeoing. A scholar who wants to research risks taken by rodeo riders, falls for a cowboy she meets. Despite the fact both are making new decisions about their individual futures, their attraction forces re-evaluation. The author is skilled at creating reader empathy for the characters.?

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it. This was a good book. I enjoyed the tie in to the 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo as well as start another series for the author with the Marvell brothers. I loved Shane and how he struggled with the break up with his long-term girlfriend. Shortly after the break up, the ex-girlfriend becomes engaged to the Marvell brothers' CPA. Shane is left reeling. He meets Ella as she is following the rodeo and interviewing bull-riders. Ella is working for her Master's degree. She is extremely intelligent and is following the rodeo to gather data to write a proposal for a grant. Upon meeting Shane, both feel an immediate attraction. They decide on a summer fling. This story of their adventure is a fun feel-good read until things go wrong. This story is one that will grab you from the start. The dual POV is wonderful to help me identify with both characters. Their thoughts and actions are so much better understood with being able to see into their thought process. I highly recommend this story to anyone.

I am reviewing this book that I received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed reading about Ella and Shane’s story. I feel that the author took time to focus on the characters and she let us see a fun side of Ella and Shane working on the ranch and stealing moments together when they could! I was reading it in order of the he series but it is perfectly fine to read it as a stand alone. There were minor hints about the book before (Cowboy Come Home) written within this book. I am an avid reader of the Marietta Montana series and I have found that I really enjoy reading other books by the same authors.
