For elephants since she was ten years old. The book opens with Alice in the middle of a massacre of elephants by poachers after ivory. She discovers.a three week old elephant calf trying to nude it's dead mother. Alice risks her career to care for the calf. I found the information about the elephants fascinating. The book is a heartwarming easy to read and provides a great deal of information about elephants. This is an issue novel.
