Don't waste your $9.99

I can guarantee you that this book is not a New York Times bestseller. It would appear that Woods is doing nothing but publishing novels about every 2 to 3 months and these last two novels are far and away some of the worst he's ever written, particularly this one, that is if he's writing them.
If my counting is correct, beginning with Stone going to college, law school, graduating at age approximately 25 years old, 14 years as a policeman, makes him 39, two or three years dating Arrington, 41, who moved to Hollywood and gets married, nine months of pregnancy, Peter is born goes to Yale gets out goes back to Hollywood probably aged 23 - 24 years, and this puts Stone in his mid 60's. Then add a few more years in between adventures and drinking probably a 100 gallons or more of knob Creek, eating out every night, and screwing everything that walks, and by now, Stone should be a 70+ year old diabetic, dying of aids or alcoholism, and weighing over 300 pounds.

I was certainly disappointed with the obvious liberal democratic slant to this book, having enjoyed the rest of the books of this series I consider myself a moderate Republican, and feel some disappointment in the obvious slant towards the Obama, Hilary Clinton flavor of this story. Are you part of the liberal media ? Is this really you ?of. can
you do better ?

I loved the early Stone books. Good stories, good dialogue, entertaining characters.
Now everyone seems to have become remarkable successes. And have lost the ability to have any, I mean any, emotion in their dialogue. Woods lost me forever with the line "I'd just like to sit here quietly and commune with the spirit of my dead son". What?? Who talks like that? I literally laughed out loud at how bad Woods' dialogue has become.
I'll stop reading his books for the same reason I stopped reading any of Clive Cusslers books: commercialism over substance. Too bad.
Good bye Mr. Woods.
Not worth anyone's time

Shameless political pandering. Woods, you are a novelist and not a political operative. Detective novels are supposed to be fun for readers. I've read every Stone Barrington novel and loved most. It's hard to overlook your overbearing and absurd leanings in this thin plot. Let's be clear, I don't care about your political views any more than you would like to listen to mine. Since you can't seem to return to the gifted story-teller that you once were, adios to you. Personal politics and pleasure don't mix.

This is one of the worst thrillers I have read in a long time. The plot was extremely thin, the characters were lifeless and evoked no emotion, and the writing was not only dull, but very low difficulty (I.e., basic).

Could have been a good book. Unfortunately, he has become part of the divisive segment of our society. Liberals are all good and conservatives are all bad.
