I saw myself reflected in the two women in the book, and I found myself crying and feeling with them. This is beautiful book that’d easily touch the heart of women today.

I don’t like past and present stories. It’s monotonous. I flipped past the old and went for Jane’s story. Then got to the end and was disappointed the author did not include the one thread of VERA. Disappointing and that’s why only three stars. Judy P

Story about two different women. One who is content to be a stay at home wife and the other career driven. When Jane and her family move from New York to the England country side she finds a note from a woman who lived in the home her family purchased who lived during WW2. Well written and captivating.
A beautiful story….

I used to read often, then I just fell uninterested in it. I would try here and there but no book ever caught my attention. Until this one. I could not out it down. I am Alice and Jane. I cried so much. I can’t wait to read more of K.H.!

What an inspiring book to read during these uncertain times! I knew what Jane felt when she moved to Goswell.
It was hard for me to quit work and take care of our children when they were young. Totally worth it. But I missed working outside the home for a long time.
Great Read!

The juxtaposition of Jane and Alice’s heartwarming stories throughout the book was delightful, a real page-turner, and made it hard to put down!
