This was good, but not as good as the earlier novels.

Unfortunately, it’s one of my favorite series no more. There’s no complexity, no love story really. It happened with Singh’s series about angels, and now with this one, too :-( I think it was my last book by Nalini, very sorry to say that.

Good read. I have a soft spot for the bears. And I especially loved Babushka Quyen. But some of the Psy race are as messed up as humans are. I suppose so much mental power and capabilities in people could spawn a lot of crazies in any race. I’m hoping Pax survives his Syndrome and won’t be the next crazy. His steadfast love for his sister Theo deserves a good ending.

Fantastic book! When you stop turning pages, you’ve reached the end. Can’t wait for the next book. And I would love more bear characters! They are a delight. A fast, intricate plot with a lot of twists. A really good read.
  • Weakest of them all so far

I’ve read all the books in this series and have loved them. For some reason this one had me skipping whole sections out of boredom. Repetitive plot points and similar conflicts from her other novels got old. Maybe it was that the story was split between 2 couples (1 gay 1 straight) so each of their “stories” was not as strong. The characters were simply recycled, renamed and reused from other books. I enjoy the “psy, human and changeling” world the writer has created (it’s brilliant) and admire her previous books. I’m sorry but this plot line was a huge miss for me.

I think Ms Singh should start a new series. Her latest book feels a little worn and lacks the complexity and character development of the earliest books in the series.
