Patrick Montgomery takes a deep dive into just how one man’s passion for the game of baseball results in producing 6 Major League Baseball Stars! I read the book, cover-to-cover, in one sitting, and I was completely engulfed with emotions ranging from happiness and laughter all the way to a sad tear or two. Mr. Montgomery takes you on a very thorough journey of just how Towny Townsend’s dream is ultimately fulfilled in the end with 6 MLB stars. The author’s love for the game of baseball is on full display throughout this book as he weaves historic anecdotes while telling Towny and The Splendid 6’s heart-warming history. The very interesting interviews that Patrick had with the actual MLB Stars lends amazing credibility to the beautiful story telling by the author! One of the quotes from this book stated “If you profess to love baseball, then you must be willing to give something back to the game of Baseball”. My feelings after reading this beautifully written baseball love story could be stated as, If you profess to love baseball, then you must read this wonderful book!! Matt Sinnen
