This was not one of Anne Rice's better books. There was so much description of everything Christmas and what was supposed to be the main story was more of a side note. It was very hard to finish this book. If there is a third book in this series, I will not be reading it.
Blech

The worst Anne Rice book ever. Full of preachy pablum in the guise of a thriller about werewolves. The Wolf Gift showed promise but this sequel is nothing more than Rice proselytizing. At least her books about Jesus were honest. This one is a thinly veiled bible story.
Hope the next one is better

I have to admit, I didn't buy this online or as an e-book, I bought the paperback. It wasn't a complete waste of money to me because I see any time reading as time well spent but this book by Mrs. Rice was just plain OK. Not great, not horrid. Not worth reading multiple times like The Vampire Armand or Servant of the Bones. Still, I anticipate the release of the next book in this series. I suggest reading it yourself as everyone's opinion will differ.
Not very good

Only read if you are a die-hard Rice fan.

Another wonderful story by Anne Rice. Eloquent. Witty. Thought provoking. She always has a way of using the mysteries of the supernatural to magnify the true human experience.
So Disappointed

I have read every book Ms. Rice has written and loved every one. This book was a huge mess. I wish she would decide to either go back to writing her great horror novels or finish her series on Jesus. Preaching religion in a novel about werewolves just turns me off. Come on Anne, you are so much better then this trash.
Superb!

Bravo to Ms. Rice once again. Absolutely magnificent!
What great story telling once again. The same addictive quality as her Vampire Chronicles.
I couldn't put it down. Eagerly awaiting her next installment to The Wolf Gift series!

I love Ann Rice's vampire novels. I absolutely devoured all of them and am so disappointed that these books aren't as compelling. The main character is a hapless, whiny, weakling with absolutely no appeal whatsoever. I speed over the sections about him in order to get to the juicy, wondrous beings who are described as the Distinguished Gentlemen. They are this meat of this book and I would love to read more about them!
You can have it back

I enjoyed the first book The Wolf Gift but this second book was a complete let down. Reuben turned into a complete wimp and the other wolves didn't step up to the plate. I found it lacked the mystery, history and power of the first book. I struggled through the last chapters just to finish.
