This book is so great my 4th grade teacher gave us copies to read it together and the book is nice, except for when the tiger got shot. It is way better than Where The Red Fern Grows. Me and my classmates couldn’t stop crying 😭. I want it for my birthday 🥳!

This is one of my favorite Kate Dicamillo books. It talks about grief, loss, friendship and more. I first read this book in 4th grade and I still do. I recommend it to people who have a hard time dealing with grief or loss.

The Tiger Rising shows how to handle pain that a person can go through, I had lost a family member and I would refuse to cry. Because I thought crying was for babies and thats what people told me, so after I read this book, i had cried for the first time in five months after loosing someone. I say teachers should be required to read this to their kids because it has such a story behind it and shows that crying is okay and you should never let your sadness or anger or any emotion sit at your feet and stay there. Because relief is all one needs to sooth the soul.

The book was good but it was also very confusing. I would not suggest it. It seemed too long and if u liked it then it’s fine

My teacher read this for read-aloud at my school, and, honestly for the record it’s got the crappiest plot. It’s also written pretty terribly, too. SUMMARY Rob, a kid with rash-covered legs, moves out of Jacksonville and to some place in the south. He gets bullied by bullies Norton and Billy Threemonger. One day he takes a stroll in the forest and sees a caged tiger near a run down gas station. One day, a new girl, Sistine,(who dresses too fancy) comes to school. Rob then gets expelled JUST BECAUSE OF HIS RASH-COVERED LEGS. He and Sistine become friends, and Rob shows her the tiger. Sistine wants to free it. Then they meet Willy May, the apparent “Prophetess,” and they show her the tiger. After that, Beauchamp, the owner of the hotel Rob lives in gives Rob the job (and keys to the tigers cage) to feed the tiger. Rob and Sistine decide to free the tiger. But then when they do it Willy May warns Robs Dad that they are freeing the tiger. He shoots the tiger. They bury the tiger, The End. Seriously, no plot. CONCLUSION, LIFE LESSON Conclusion: In the end, they kill and bury the tiger. Cool. Life Lesson: Um, I guess something like,”Everyone deserves their freedom”? Well, that’s my review. Maybe I’ll edit later. -Bye, POWBot2000
