I've been a huge fan of George R. R. Martin ever since I stumped upon the original book of a song of ice and fire a few years ago. His writing style and the pure intelligence in his words makes you question the characters, their actions, their decisions, and even their speech. Tuf Voyaging is no different. A 'humble' trader, Haviland Tuf, is thrust into the role of a god, or ecological engineer when he stumbles upon the last EEC Seedship, the Ark. This is the story of his adventures, his triumphs, and his legacy in the annals of universal history. The main plot (in my eyes at least) are the sequences regarding Suthlam, with the others being a bit more character development and flavor of Tuf himself. I can't really say more without ruining any of the actual plot, but if you read anything today, make sure Tuf Voyaging is at the top of your list.
  • Tuf is one cool cat!

Very good book. Hard sci-fi with good sense of humor; a nice change of pace from other GRR Martin books that I've read lately. I was very pleasantly surprised by the many (and expert) illustrations included in the book. (iOS users double tap the image to open it so it can be viewed / pinch to zoom in/out). Highly Recommended!
