Mr. Havisham (or what ever his name was) was the most interesting character in my opinion. After that it got bit formulaic. Kind of what you would expect. Fauntleroy is a little angel and everyone who sees him thinks he the best little boy that ever existed. Cute though. Watch the 1936 movie. That is a good adaptation.

Wonderful book, I also found the movie in the wallmart movies under $5.00 bin, staring Freddie Bartholomew as lord Fauntleroy and with Mickey Rooney as Dick. A old black and white movie, fun.

Amazingly, I had never read this wonderful story. It is totally delightful and should be on everyone's reading list, young and old. Author of One Man's Music.

I have heard of this story, but never read it before. I wish some of our impudent youngsters could read it and learn from it that a kind and gentle young person could make a difference!

What a wonderful book full of simple sweet lessons presented by the characters in the book. The most valuable lesson of all...be of good cheer and kindness to all and believe in the goodness in people.
