Description

The Iliad (sometimes referred to as the Song of Ilion or Song of Ilium) is an ancient Greek epic poem in dactylic hexameter, traditionally attributed to Homer. Set during the Trojan War, the ten-year siege of the city of Troy(Ilium) by a coalition of Greek states, it tells of the battles and events during the weeks of a quarrel between King Agamemnon and the warrior Achilles

This is a book few read but many know about, in my opinion, (a 16 year old) all should read old books like this to learn about history, important lessons and many more.

This is a good book, and it's cool to be able to read what was written several thousand years ago, but I feel that it gets a bit dry in the middle. Other than that, though, good classic.
  • It's Homer

Defiantly conveys the beauty of the poem. It is in prose, but that does not diminish the quality of the work. The only thing I don’t like about this translation is that it uses the Roman names for its characters, when the whole narrative is Greek.
  • A renowned classic

This book is a must for all who strive for knowledge. It is essential to many, used to understand war and more in the words of Homer himself. The context has a unique way of speaking, beneficial to later reading of the classics.
