This story pulled me in and would not let go. I read the whole book in two nights staying up until the early morning

Thank you, Kristin Hannah, for this book. I’ve never read a book before that made me sob. It touched me to my soul.

Predictable but very well written

Intense book. Lots of tears.

Thinking of my best friend right now knowing someday we will be the ever loving presence in each other’s lives, whether together or apart. Once again Kristin Hannah, well done.

I have already read The Women, so I thought I had an insight into women in wartime. This was a new revelation. Goodness it was hard to read and hard to put down.

We’re gradually learning to appreciate the impact service in the military has on women. Kristen Hannah is a masterful storyteller who guides the reader through the personal and professional challenges of women and their families dealing with the military way of life.

I love her writing and the heart and soul she puts into it. This is a unique story, full of very real life, and very well developed characters. Having grown up in a military family this resonates deeply with me. Thank you, Kristin Hannah, for another very worthwhile read.

I don’t really like to write reviews but I had to about this book. I love to read but I have never experienced the emotions that this book brought out of me! I even found myself talking to the characters! lol. Absolutely loved this book!!

What a beautiful, beautiful reminder that freedom is not free.
