Description

This electrifying sequel from the New York Times bestselling author of Feed reenters a world of zombies, geeks, politics, social media, and the virus that runs through them all.
Shaun Mason is a man without a mission. Not even running the news organization he built with his sister has the same urgency as it used to. Playing with dead things just doesn't seem as fun when you've lost as much as he has.

But when a CDC researcher fakes her own death and appears on his doorstep with a ravenous pack of zombies in tow, Shaun has a newfound interest in life. Because she brings news—he may have put down the monster who attacked them, but the conspiracy is far from dead.

Now, Shaun hits the road to find what truth can be found at the end of a shotgun.

I liked Feed but this book was so much better. Loved the character development and exposition of the science of K-A virus was totally necessary. Tempted to stay home and read all weekend.

  • Less than half a book

Feed was an extremely original concept executed by mediocre writer who worked and reworked the piece to a fairly satisfyingly complete product. Deadline contains nothing original, reflects the worst aspects of this author's voice and shamelessly attempts to draw less than half a novel's story into books two and three of a trilogy. I don't care if book three wins a Hugo, I will not reward this behavior with my book-buying dollars.

Mira Grant sucked me in with Feed and I was chomping at the bit to start Deadline right after. She did a great job at continuing the story and getting me sucked right back into this book. Can't wait for Blackout

I picked up this book as soon as I finished reading Feed. Deadline was just as amazing and satisfying as Feed. The character development was flawless and the story had me rushing from chapter to chapter in anticipation of what was going to happen next. This is a story to make even George A. Romero proud. I would love to see trilogy put into movie form put at the same time I fear no movie could do this incredible story justice. Do your self a favor and pick up Feed and Deadline. Its must reed material for any one who claims to be a Zombie genre lover.

Another wonderful read by Mira Grant. She always writes with a great sense of the future and what it could be like. Imagine driving down an empty freeway? LOL! Wonderful book - not too gory, bloody or horrific. After reading the teaser for the third book, I am anxious to finish the trilogy.
  • A good read but not as good as Feed.

Feed grabbed me from the beginning and didn't let go, this one started off that way and then lost some of my focus with a little much science and not enough story. My applause to Mira for creating so much science to build the story on but as times it felt overwhelming to the storyline. Not to spoil it for anyone but I wasn't really happy with how the book ended, but the preview to the next book helped offset my dislike for that type of ending.

Yet another great book from the news flesh series. Not recommended for children, but one of the best books I have ever read - better than Harry potter.
