The logue family in the small town of Saddlestrinh Wyoming are cursed. The parents are demented and their two sons are twisted. One is a mentally deranged Doctor who enjoys torturing and murdering people. The other son a weak but well off realtor controlled by his cunning and evil wife. Twists and turns on every page. Another fantastic read in this series!! Enjoyed immensely!!

The story was fairly good up until the end. I thought the ending was pretty weak.

Good read overall. Box is a good writer. The story was a bit over done with unpleasant accounts of animal and human mutilations. For 80% of the book the plot went nowhere. Also, the title is somewhat misleading as it didn’t have any relation to the story. Still, it kept me engaged to the rather complicated, and improbable finish.

This was my favorite Joe Pickett book to date! There are so many twists and turns and so many connecting pieces that you can’t even begin to guess what’s going to happen - all the way down to the last page!
A very satisfied reader

This volume by C.J. Box had the most complex and well-conceived plot of any I have read so far. I believe this author is honing his craft to a level few authors ever accomplish.

CJ Box is quickly becoming one of my favorite writers with his Joe Pickett series. With entertaining plots, filled with details of the Northwest, they draw the reader into a world that many of us have never experienced. It's hard to put down one of these books once you get started. I can't wait to read more.
