Description

What did Jesus teach? Distilled from years of study and lecture, affirmed by nearly a million readers over the last fifty years, Emmet Fox's answer in The Sermon on the Mount is simple. The Bible is a "textbook of metaphysics" and the teachings of Jesus express--without dogma--a practical approach for the development of the soul and for the shaping of our lives into what we really wish them to be. For Fox, Jesus was "no sentimental dreamer, no mere dealer in empty platitudes, but the unflinching realist that only a great mystic can be."

In his most popular work, Emmet Fox shows how to: Understand the true nature of divine wisdom. Tap into the power of prayer. Develop a completely integrated and fully expressed personality. Transform negative attitudes into life-affirming beliefs. Claim our divine right to the full abundance of life.

I’ve been reading this book for years and it never gets old. It’s also quite wonderful to have this in a digital format which is searchable and easy to put notes in. Emmet Fox was one of the greatest Christian writers I know. One of my top five Christian books of all time.

I am a registered nurse and recently went through 8 weeks of working on a covid-19 floor in the epicenter of the virus -NY. My father and mother gave me emmet fox’s books when I was 19 and my father told me he knew I probably wouldn’t read it and grasp it until I was in my deepest darkest moments later in life. I cannot explain to you the mental torment this virus has on anyone who has to work with it. The crippling fear I had that my family and myself would not make it out of this pandemic alive was enough to wish I wasn’t here in the first place. I turned to these books and they legitimately changed my life - through God. No, there is no “religion”, and this book does not preach the message you probably think it does. But this book taught me many things, but the most important thing being that there is never anything to actually fear and love is the remedy to every difficulty in life. God is good no matter what, and there is a divine plan after all.

Book is full of (about 30) typos and punctuation flaws. It is not a perfect facsimile of the printed book.

Truly brilliant. Brings ones closer to a relationship with God through a better understanding of Jesus' words in a contemporary explanation. Very much in alignment with A Course In Miracles.
