Beautiful mythical story. For the first time, I have become interested in Norse mythology and will continue now to learn more about it.

Not as good as the first book, unfortunately. It was a good tale about the sword, but not enough gandr in this one I thought. I love the gandr parts and Bjarki’s struggles with it…there was really only one episode with it against the Franks, and a short one at that. I would like more Tor, more Karolus, less Valtyr. That is what made the first book so great: the meshing of magic and history. This one felt rushed, and the editing needed work.
