Kinda dragged out. Not a very compelling plot but well written enough to keep it going. I wouldn’t recommend it

Definitely NOT a page turner. Too wordy and drawn out.

One of Turow’s better efforts. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Good read and captivating but towards the end turns into questionable deductions, insights and not believable reactions.

Not very good— this was not a thriller. More like a novel revolving around Pinky, the PI. Very disappointing.

It was an okay read and a decent plot, but the main character was way overworked.

The base corruption story was good but way too much filler and soap opera drama. Did not meet my expectations of a Turow book.

Since reading presumed innocent at one sitting I have eagerly read each of his new books. My view is that his story telling continues to grow in subtley and character development. Pinky a female private investigator is the true star of this book. She is both a very strange and very rich character. I have to marvel at Turrow’s ability to get into a woman’s head. Pinky certainly isn’t an average woman but is both complex and endearing. The other female lead is the chief of police, also a woman who has ben accussed of sexual harrassment. The investigation becomes much wider with many surprises for the reader and the characters.
