I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a fantastic start to a new series. I couldn't read this fast enough. There were several scenes that were so gut-wrenching that I had to stop and re-read them over and over. The way the plot flowed, it was almost like watching a movie. It was written in a dual POV format. That is a favorite of mine. It helps me to connect to the characters. I could really feel the emotions that Ms. Severn had Raleigh Wilde going through.
Beckett Foster is a deputy with the U. S. Marshals. He has been tasked with bringing an escaped fugitive back into the system. That fugitive, a former woman in Beckett's life, Raleigh Wilde. He comes across Raleigh at her aunt's cabin and the race to their HEA is one that was an emotional roller-coaster ride for me. There were wonderful highs but also the lowest of lows.
This is a clean read with really no sexy scenes, it was eluded to but nothing else. I so look forward to more of this series.
