I could not get enough of this book as I did not want it to end. I enjoyed the mystery and crimes committed by the psychopaths. They kept you turning pages and a look into their minds. I highly recommend this book!

4 1/2 STARS! A delectably chilling addition to the Evelyn Talbot series! This is a series that in my opinion should be read in order from the beginning so that you will be able to follow along and get all of the history and inflection of what has happened previously. We are familiar with the majority of the characters at this point, but there are always new deranged killers showing up at the prison. The plot is easy to get entrenched into, because we are just waiting for her to be in danger again. We definitely saw some of that in this book, but I was looking for a little more actual Jasper interaction. Hopefully the next book will give us a satisfactory conclusion to his terror once and for all ... and I'm still crossing my fingers on that happily ever after for Evelyn & Amarok! Forever reeling from her traumatizing teenage experiences, psychiatrist Evelyn Talbot worked hard to get Hanover House prison established in Hilltop, Alaska. She studies some of the most deranged serial killers ever to have been imprisoned and hopes to one day have some conclusive research to combat the devious mind of a killer. When her latest high profile prisoner arrives, tension is high. Dr. Lyman Bishop AKA the Zombie Maker has been reeking havoc performing ice-pick lobotomies. Upon beginning sessions with him, she deduces that he's a very credible liar ... or is it possible he actually is innocent like he claims? When a new murder occurs with the same MO, it's obvious it couldn't be Bishop ... but when the news gets out that it's an old classmate of Evelyn's, everyone wonders if it's Jasper coming back to taunt her once again!

Amazing!!! Evelyn Talbot is the psychiatrist at Hanover House, a maximum security prison in Alaska. A new inmate, Lyman Bishop has arrived. Dr Talbot will try to get into his mind to see what makes him tick. Jasper, who tried to kill Evelyn years ago is still on the loose. He is one sick man!! All I can say is wow! Then you have the romance between Evelyn and Amarok, he is so good to her. I'm happy to see Evelyn coming out her shell of protection. This is a book that will keep you turning the pages and checking your own safety. I don't know what I'm going to do until the next book comes out in the series. I do recommend that you read them in order, a better understanding of the characters.

A riveting storyline weaving the past and present together with thrills, chills, intrigue and a well created, well developed and vivid cast of characters. A great read!! I volunteered to read Hello, Again. Loved it so much I bought a hard copy of the book.

This is a fantastic addition to the series. It's the second full length book and I recommend that this series be read in order of publication beginning with Hanover House The prequel novella that started it all. Part romantic suspense, part thriller, this entire series will keep you on the edge of your seat. In this installment Evelyn is working with a new inmate Dr. Lyman Bishop. Known as the Zombie Maker. The further the case progresses and then when another murder occurs Evelyn begins to wonder if her own past is coming back to haunt her once again. This is an amazing series and one that I would recommend to everyone.
  • Tense and exciting

The mind of a psychopath and the variety of methods used to carry out end goals is mind blowing. From just plain evil, merciless, and limitless killings to the long term and gradual manipulation of victims through much pain and suffering, psychopaths are unpredictable. Evelyn has been working with other professionals at the prison she helped create, Hanover House, to study what makes a psychopath tick and attempts to solve the mystery of why they do what they do. It is pretty much uncomprehending. Evelyn's boyfriend, Amarok, who works with the Hilltop, Alaska police, tries to kee her safe. But with each working separately in this remote and freezing cold town where cellphone service is unavailable, Amarok can't always be in contact with her. They do get to meet up at Hanover House, at the Moosehead for food and drinks, and at home. I can actually breathe normally when they are together and welcome the mind break. This book has multiple psychopaths at work. Stopping them from causing harm is especially tough, as you never know when a coworker or acquaintance is one of them - normalcy covers their true character. Jasper is a constant in this series and has been trying to get her for over 20 years. Others end up wanting her to become their victim, too. This book is tense, fast moving, full of action, and scary. I want the killings and torture to end. Well-written and researched, I look forward to the next book in this series, but need some lighter reads first.
  • Another stellar read!!!

This stellar novel is the second in the Dr. Evelyn Talbot series and it features Dr. Evelyn Talbot and Sergeant Benjamin "Amarok" Murphy. I'm not really into suspense novels but this one has a thread of romance running through it and it is a series by an amazing contemporary romance author that I adore. I figured I would give it a try and I'm so glad I did! As I started reading I immediately got sucked into the story line and let me just say that the way it's put together is perfection! The characters, the build up, the plot twists and even the end we're fan-freaking-tastic. Several times, while reading, I felt myself inhaling deeply at what was happening but none more so than a little more than halfway into this book. It was SHOCKING! Brenda Novak, you are as fabulously talented at writing romantic suspense as you are at writing contemporary romance. I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book.
  • So much Intensity!

Another amazing installment to the Evelyn Talbot series! The writing is so spot on that I swear I was shivering from the cold of Alaska in the heat of a Texas summer. Thank goodness for the romance breaks, otherwise this would be so intense that I would have to sleep with the lights on for a while. I think the intensity comes not only from the location setting but also from the idea that these characters are really every day people. The bad guys, while yes they are bad, they still functioned in regular life before they were caught and this book reminds us that you just never know what is going on in the mind of the person sitting next to you in a restaurant, on a train or plane or just walking by you on the street. I can't wait for the next book since this series just keeps getting better and better!
