Oh my gosh, this is my most favorite book of the whole series!!!!! It’s so good! Maddie and her boyfriend are stuck on a island with a killer hunting them down for their life, with a ton of booby traps on the island as well. Once their off the island they are being tracked down from the mad killer in their own town! Amazing story, highly enjoyable, I read it in a day and a night! I literally couldn’t put it down! Maddie is definitely my favorite character! Five thumbs up! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ» (I am 13, so I am not an adult being paid to say this I truly love it!)

MOVING TARGET by Lynette Eason, the 3 rd in Elite Guardians Series. Maddy a former FBI now a bodyguard, sitting across table from Quinn. Quinn wants to recruit Maddy to help find the serial killer. There has been 8 victims in 6 months. Maddy is the best, she can get into his mind, but takes a toll on her, doesn't want to go back to doing. She mentions his surprise birthday party the next day, Quinn replies he's not a party person. Words are spoken, and Maddy leaves, Quinn was shocked by her reactions, knew he needed to apologies, he couldn't lose her. The party, they don't show up, guests wonder, did they take a vacation . The Chosen, does he have them, been sending notes. He feels he is fulfilling his destiny, needs 2 more victims. A race that begins, and doesn't stop till the end. The story flows, and characters are well define. You feel the emotions, from the beginning as Maddy wonders why she loves Quinn. He was too broken, damaged, to trust her, and let her in. The stress and roller coaster of being around him. You feel for her, and what Quinn is going thru, also. ARC from Net Galley for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

This is a stand-alone story within a series. A number of the characters from the previous books have support roles in this one though. The two main characters, Maddy and Quinn, are so well developed that I connected with both of them really quickly after starting this book. They each have their own emotional baggage that keeps rearing its ugly head and getting in the way of moving on with their lives. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing how they slowly faced up to it and figured out the steps they needed to take to work through it. This all takes place in the midst of being targeted by a madman who wants to kill both of them. The key though is that he wants to play some games and mess with their heads first. The plot is crafted so ingeniously that it really kept me guessing. In fact when the actual mastermind behind all the games is revealed I found that I had made a number of wrong guesses along the way. I received a free copy of this book from the publisher.
