The characters were fantastic and the story was beautiful and interesting. I enjoyed reading this story and the characters were genuine. I loved their need to survive and support each other. I enjoyed learning about the struggles of our ancestors.

True to form, this story is an amazing romance. The heroine is strong woman, hurt from betrayals past, and the hero somehow gets this from the beginning. The heat between them is always there, and their married moments are just right without causing undue blushing. Thank you Ms. Henderson for a beautiful read.

Wonderful characters with heart and grit. Love the frontier setting and the many challenges. Good doses of humor.

The first of the series and really enjoyed it. I like how other characters from some of her other series cross over and mentioned. The way Peggy includes all the family in the story gives us the big picture like we are there!!! Reading about Cora and Nathaniel from both their hearts makes for a very involved reader. Also, reading about Anna’s turmoil and others keeps you wanting more of the story. Love the way Peggy writes. A true escape!
