Final Target Review

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I had never read a Zara Keane novel or a novel about the mob, so this was a first x2 for me!
I really liked the storyline and the suspense. There were lots of twists and turns--especially in the end that I wasn't expecting. The last twist segways into the next novel! This story begins with the bombing of a church, then fast forwards several years to fill in the gaps as to why Moira and Lar became what they were/are. It also explains why they did what they did. There are 3 main crime families in this novel, each accusing the other of killing their family members. People are assumed dead, but they aren't. Family members are reunited and love found.
I found myself confused at times with all the family elements as to who was after whom and why. This is not a light read and you have to be somewhat detail-focused so that you don't miss something important. With that being said, I did enjoy this novel and will definitely read other Zara Keane novels!
Irish Mafia with romance and mystery

I had no idea this book was going to be about the Irish Mafia when I started it! I have read the first three books in the Ballybeg series, so I have no read the book that introduces you to Lar. There are many characters to meet in this book! He comes from a large Irish family, many of whom are also tied to the mob, though Lar and some of his cousins are trying to get out. Enter Moira, a blast from his part with a very large twist! I don't want to give to much of the plot away... This book was hard to put down. I wanted to find out who was behind what, and if Lar and Moira were going to get together! The end of the book left me anticipating the next one in the series. In the mean time, I may need to get the rest of the books in the Ballybeg series read... Being from the States, I did not find it hard to follow along or understand what was being said or described. Sometimes reading a book about a place I haven't been with slang I don't understand can be a little challenging! But, how else am I suppose to travel the world for only $5! I did receive an advanced copy of this book for an honest review.
Irish mob mystery romance

A lot of mob mystery with a little romance thrown in. Final Target is not your average romance, it focuses more on the mob mystery angle than the rebidding love of Lar and Moira. The story line pulls you in and you can't put it down till you know who's responsible and what happens next. The ending leaves more questions than answers making it impossible to wait for book 2, June seems very far away.
I love Zara's Irish books that bring me to an unfamiliar culture without completely losing me in the lingo, a very nice balance.
Great Read!

I received this as an advance copy and I am so very glad I did! I have enjoyed all of Keane's Ballybeg series, and this filled in gaps I didn't even know were there! I was so excited to see Lars have his own story, so we could learn more about him. Moira/Gen is a strong woman who doesn't need a man, but finds Lars to be the peanut butter to her jelly. The plot twists were unexpected and exciting. I could hardly put the book down as I needed to know who did what and why. I have to admit, I had to read the end at one point, so I could relax and stop speed reading. If you are looking for a steamy, complex story then this is your book.
Exciting Suspense!

This suspenseful tale was very well written and had me guessing throughout the story. Moira and Lar were very complex as former lovers who worked together to find out who was responsible for killing her family in a church bombing and killing his cousin and uncle in a shoot out. The mysteries were separate but some things became intertwined. This was an exciting thriller filled with twists and turns. I can't wait to see the next book in this series because there were some loose ends that will carry forward. I highly recommend this book to any that enjoy romantic suspense!
