As much as I have been fascinated by the British royals, and have read several biographies of Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth, and of course Princess Diana, this is the first I’ve read that tells the sweet story of young Johnnie. His Nanny, Lala, was such a godsend, given his parents wanted to keep his medical condition a secret. As for the future Duke of Windsor, I am so glad he abdicated, since he was a self-entitled and selfish man. He and Wallis-Simpson deserved each other! My only regret is I wish the story of Lala and Chad had been true, and she had ended up with the only man she ever loved.

I really enjoyed the perspective this author gives on the life of the royals in earlier days.
