Fabulous combination of history and fantasy, with a Jane Austin -like look at the mores and habits of the humans of the early eighteen hundreds. This is a nine series set of novels, and I think is best read from start to finish. Both the characters of the dragons and the humans that populate this series are wonderfully fleshed out and complex. Kudos to Naomi Novik !

A truly fascinating series that is filled with adventure, history and love. I thought it certainly worth my time and money.

A very good ending to this series. My only regret there seemed to be a small hole in part of the ending. *Spoiler below* For instance did Jane and Laurence get together in the end. I felt they should have it seemed they enjoyed each other's company greatly and should have wed or even projected a little into the future saying they did wed and had children and everything was going great for them as politicians.
