I loved this book by Susan Hatler. It was funny how Greta expected Olivia to keep the neighbors from using the beach in front of their own house because they were men. Brody was using his uncles house after losing his fire chief. The widow asked him to spread his ashes for her. He meets Olivia when he is helping in his uncles bar and starts to have feelings for her. Olivia asks him and his friends to join her women’s conference outings. He feels hurt when he finds out that they are there as temptations and not because she wanted to spend time with him. Olivia must decide if love or her job is more important. 4.5 stars out of 5. Not all books are created equal, but in Ms. Hatler's case, all books ARE created amazingly with sweet, romantic moments. I feel like I can give this opinion fairly, being on the second book in the Kissed by the Bay series and having read almost all of the Better Date than Never series. She is truly a talented writer, and I respect the clean romance that is written into her novels. I loved this second book in the Kissed by the Bay series, and it could also stand alone outside of the series. Wendy (from book one) made small occasional appearances, but it whole-heartedly centers around Olivia, and I didn't feel like it depended on having read the first novel. Olivia and Brody's romance is so swoon-worthy, suspenseful and filled with romantic moments. He holds back in a mysterious, keeping-you-on-your-toes sort of way in the beginning, and Olivia slowly learns more about him as the novel progresses. I wasn't sure that I liked Greta's character much in the beginning, or the whole premise of the Date Escape retreat, but it grows on you (as does she). The women are trying to be more independent and confident on their own, but they seem to understand over the course of those two weeks that you can be independent and still get the guy. I felt like between Olivia's love life, the Date Escape retreat, Greta's side story, and figuring out more about Brody, there was just the right about of "action" to mix with the romance. I liked watching Olivia try to juggle her current job at the Market with a potentially blooming career and choosing whether business or pleasure would have to take a back seat for her to end up with the life she wanted. Brody was great! He had intrigue and romantic sides that left you wanting more. I never felt too irritated with him or like he was being coy with Olivia. She just had trust issues to work through herself. Great read overall. Plan to read the third book very soon! Romance: clean **Disclaimer: I have received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review.**
